Solar power systems in Nordland and Marrowstone Island can be very effective. Eastern Jefferson County averages approximately 3.5 hours of full sun per day. That is about 70% of the sun resources of southern California. This makes grid-tied solar installations very popular in Nordland. Power Trip Energy has installed many solar PV systems in Nordland and Marrowstone Island over the years; here are a few of our latest projects:
After completing re-roofing the home, we installed 28 SunPower 327 Watt AC Modules on the home. We used their utility bill to decide how much energy needed to show comparable offset for consumption. With this system we expect it to cover 90-95% of their annual usage.

When Mike and Pam Coffeen relocated from Alaska they wanted to grow their own food and generate their own electricity. The electricity is provided by a 6.44 KW solar array equipped with Sharp 230 watt solar modules and a 7 KW Sunnyboy inverter. The chickens seem to approve.
