Port Angeles Solar

Port Angeles is an excellent location for solar – and it is one of our busiest locations on the Peninsula. The North Olympic Peninsula averages approximately 3.5 hours of full sun per day. That is about 70% of the sun resources of southern California. This makes grid-tied solar installations very popular in Port Angeles. Power Trip Energy has installed many solar PV systems in PA over the years; here are a few of our latest projects:

Turner Residence, 6.42 KW, Port Angeles, 2008

Turner Residence, 6.42 KW, Port Angeles, 2008

The Turner’s originally installed a 3.42 KW system on their home in 2006. Because solar PV systems are modular in nature, the Turners were able to install another 3 KW of Sanyo modules (for a total of 6.42 KW) on their roof this year. Each array has its own inverter to maximize system performance.

Spiegel Residence, 1.26 KW, Port Angeles, 2007

Spiegel Residence, 1.26 KW, Port Angeles, 2007

1.26 KW system using 7 180 watt  Evergreen solar modules and an 1100 watt SMA inverter. Power Trip helped customer with county permit process to selectively remove trees to improve solar access while protecting eagle perch trees on the bluff.

Smith Residence, 2.7 KW, Port Angeles, 2007

Smith Residence, 2.7 KW, Port Angeles, 2007

2.7 KW system composed of 14 Day4 Energy solar modules and a SMA Sunnyboy 5000 watt inverter. This system is designed to be expanded in the future with another 2.7 KW of solar modules on the same inverter.
