Residence, 9.81 KW, Sequim, 2013
This array consists of 30 SunPower 327 watt modules and two SunPower 6 KW inverters. The trees that are shading the array were removed to increase the solar potential of the system.
Sequim may be the best location for solar west of the Cascades – that Olympic rainshadow really keeps the sun shining. Solar power systems in Sequim work extremely well. The area averages around 3.5 hours of full sun per day. Believe it or not, that is about 70% of the sun resources of southern California. This makes grid-tied solar installations a wise investment for homeowners in Sequim. Power Trip Energy has installed many solar PV systems in Sequim over the years; here are a few of our latest projects:

Jay Lazerwitz had us install 3.5 kw of Itek on his studio in Diamond Point, pictured here right after a mountain bike ride together on the trails of the Miller Peninsula, which we rode after I gave him the orientation to his new system. I’m glad to have a new biking buddy and am always eager to try to get in a quick mid-day bombing run on our great local trails. This ride gave Jay the chance to fix a broken chain and successfully finish the ride – way to go MacGyver!

Jim and Cherie are all smiles about their new 5.46 KW PV array consisting of 28 Sanyo 195 watt modules and a SMA 6000 watt inverter. This installation was utilized by the Department of Labor and Industries to train their inspectors on how a proper PV installation is done. Power Trip Energy is proud of our quality work and our positive working relationship with state electrical permitting agencies.
1.17 KW array consisting of 6 Sanyo 195 watt modules and a PV Powered 2000 watt inverter. The Yahres used a low interest loan through the Clallam Co. PUD and First Federal to finance the project.
7.848 KW system on the Clallam PUD grid consisting of 24 SunPower 327 watt modules and a Sunnyboy 8KW inverter.
