8.4 kW, Chimacum 2025
Chimacum is well positioned for solar energy systems; the North OIympic Peninsula averages approximately 3.5 hours of full sun per day. That’s about 70% of the sun resources of southern California. That makes grid-tied solar installations very workable here. Power Trip Energy has installed a number of solar PV systems in Chimacum over the years; here are a few of our latest projects:
Finnriver Cidery and Orchard installed a large 65kW solar array, making it the largest solar array in Jefferson County. We installed on what was formally known as the “Parlor’, their tasting room, commercial kitchen, and new warehouse storage building. Finnriver not only received a 25% USDA Grant but also used a “Barnraiser” to help local clients help fund their project as well.
This solar array consists of 20 SunPower 230 watt modules and one SunPower 5 KW inverter. The modules are mounted onto the shop roof which is standing seam metal.
This 7.15 solar array system contains 26 SolarWorld 275 watt modules and 2 Power One 4000 watt inverters.
