Solar Installers in Silverdale, WA
Power Trip Energy has installed solar on Silverdale homes since 2012, with four Silverdale arrays in our online archive and more Central Kitsap work nearby in Seabeck and Keyport, including a 2026 home battery upgrade. Silverdale is served by Puget Sound Energy (PSE), and under Washington’s net metering law the surplus power your array makes in summer earns bill credits you use in winter. We are a licensed Washington electrical and general contractor with NABCEP-certified staff, and we have installed on the Kitsap Peninsula since 2003.

What Kitsap homeowners say about Power Trip Energy
“We could not be more pleased with our new solar array. We knew of Power Trip from friends on Marrowstone Island but became much more interested after hearing Andy speak at a neighborhood gathering. His knowledge of the industry, historical and future-facing, is comprehensive. We have enjoyed all of our interactions with Becky and Mike, who put together our bids, completed our paperwork for system approval, and conducted training on monitoring panel productivity through the app. The installation crew was enjoyable to have around the property — prompt, pleasant, efficient, neat and tidy!”
“To all the employees of Power Trip Energy! Thanks for the awesome solar installation, you have motivated me to save more energy and promote solar power even more.”
Puget Sound Energy and net metering in Silverdale
Homes and businesses in Silverdale get their electricity from Puget Sound Energy (PSE). Washington’s net metering law requires every utility in the state, including PSE, to connect customer-owned solar PV systems, accept the surplus electricity they send to the grid and credit it at the same retail price you pay, up to 100% of the energy you use each year. When PSE reached the state’s capacity threshold in 2024 it chose to extend and stabilise its net metering policy rather than cut it off, and existing net-metered customers are expected to keep their agreement.
In the Northwest, solar production peaks in summer and electricity use peaks in winter. Net metering lets you bank summer credits on your PSE bill and spend them in the darker months, which is why we size a system on its yearly output rather than any single day. PSE customers can also enrol a compatible home battery in PSE’s Flex program, which pays a rebate toward the battery and an annual payment for letting PSE draw on it during Flex Events. We handle the system design, the interconnection application with PSE and the building permit. Silverdale solar questions
Which utility serves Silverdale, and does it offer net metering?
Silverdale is served by Puget Sound Energy (PSE). Washington’s net metering law requires every utility in the state, including PSE, to connect customer-owned solar PV systems and credit surplus electricity at the retail rate, up to 100% of your yearly use. Summer credits carry forward and offset your winter bills. We file the interconnection application with PSE for you. Read about PSE’s net metering decision.
Does solar actually work in Silverdale?
Yes. Our Silverdale installs have produced since 2012, and net metering means the sunny months pay for the grey ones. Three of the four Silverdale arrays are split across two roof areas to make the most of the roof space available. We quote yearly production for your roof, not a daily figure, so the estimate already includes winter. Read more in our FAQ.
How many solar systems has Power Trip Energy installed in Silverdale?
Four Silverdale projects are in our online archive, from 2012 to 2016 and from 5.17 kW to 9.48 kW, plus Central Kitsap work in Seabeck (a 10.15 kW array in 2019 and a home battery upgrade in 2026) and Keyport (a 12.3 kW array in 2022), and over 1,100 installations across Kitsap, Jefferson and Clallam counties. We have also taken part in Solarize Kitsap seminars and the Central Kitsap Solar Tour kick-off held in Silverdale.
Does PSE pay toward a home battery in Silverdale?
PSE’s Flex program pays enrolled customers a one-time rebate toward a compatible home battery and an annual participation payment in return for letting PSE draw a small amount of stored energy during Flex Events, leaving at least 20% in reserve. Compatible systems as of early 2026 include Tesla Powerwall, SolarEdge, Enphase IQ and FranklinWH. Read our PSE Flex guide.
